The Aches and Pains of it All

Man, at 27 weeks I am hurting all over especially my tummy. I think it is my uterus growing but it could be the fact that I've been on my feet since 6:30 this morning.

**Side note: I tried writing this two nights ago but I was in so much pain I couldn't!

So, what I was saying was that I over did it I think. I had the kids on the go from 8:30 to 6:30. Kevin was off so I took Kendra to school and had to take Brady too since he was up. I decided to let Kevin sleep in. After dropping K off at school I needed to hit to grocery because we had been gone for a week. We has nothing...no milk, bread or anything pretty much. I grabbed a few things because I was already getting tired having to haul Brady around.

I had a doc appointment at 11 that morning so I had to come home and get a shower and go. I literally laid down for about 15 minutes and then got ready and left. This appointment was my glucose test so I took my bible to read while I was there. It wasn't too bad of a wait and I did manage to read a lot and met another lady who was having her tubes tied. Interesting conversation with her.

After my appointment I ran over to the mall and grabbed lunch and walked around a couple of stores. Kevin picked K up from school and they got home not too long after I did. I tried to keep them busy while Kevin did his mid term for a couple of hours. We played outside for a while and then I decided to take them out. We went to Kohls and then stopped and picked up a pizza for dinner. I had plans to make spagetti but at that point I was already so sore that I couldn't stand to make dinner.

We ate dinner and then Kevin was off to church for Hallelujah House rehearsal. We played for just a bit more after dinner and then I got them in the shower. They were in bed by 7:30 and mommy, that's me :-), was beat. I don't think I've ever been that tired and sore all over. I got a bath and fell into bed.

Moral of this story: Don't over do it anymore throughout the pregnancy.

Just walking around last night at HH for 4 hours I was hurting when I got home and realized. Gosh, makes me think about how I'm going to manage through natural childbirth. All I can pray for is that God will help me and maybe I should start doing a little more exercising.

Third Trimester Here I Come!

Man, it seems like it took forever to get here but then again, I'm sure the next phase is going to go so fast. I've rathered enjoy, a little, being pregnant this time even though it has been totally different. This week marks the end of my second trimester. I'm coming into the home stretch. I've been feeling pretty good lately. Other than the fact that I haven't seen my feet in a while, can't put on shoes very easily, my stomach is stretching bigger than it ever has (and I hear I will get bigger - is that possible??), and my body aches at time all over....It has been great! LOL

We're leaving to go to Florida tomorrow and I'm wondering how the plane flight will be. I was kind of nervous at first but I let my doctor know and they are fine with it. I'm so ready to get to a warmer climate with my kids running around for a couple of days. I'm just thinking forward and once I get on the plane I'll be okay.

I so hope that this third trimester goes more smoothly than the last (given the appendicitis and all). I know God is taking care of me and this little one. I can't wait to see his little face, but will another 3 1/2 months!

And the moral is...

So, last night I got a whim of energy and wanted to clean up or out the closet in the bonus room. While this was thought to be a great idea at the time, I paid for it dearly soon after. My back, butt, legs, and pretty much my whole body was hurting within an hour. Kevin got home from school and I told him I had to take a bath or there was no way I was going to sleep. The sweet hubby that he is ran me a bath, lit the candles and turned on the heater. :-) I got in and melted to the tub. Though, everytime I get in I'm reminded how little that tub really is...or I'm just getting bigger by the day! HA Upon my exit from the tub I figured it wouldn't hurt to take a couple of Tylenol PM either so I popped two in my mouth and waited for the relief.

I fell asleep in the bed pretty quickly but soon awoke to needing to potty (usual occurence at night...blah). AND, when I wake up I usually can't get back to sleep these days. What's with that? I think I am just getting uncomfortable as I'm growing. Anyway, I tried for a while to get to sleep and then the cat (who is usually outside) jumped up on the bed and laid on top of me as he likes to do. I couldn't have that. These days I can't have anything touching me at night. So, I made my usual walk to the couch and tried to fall asleep again. hmmmm...laying there falling in and out of conscientiousness (boy those PM meds work!) I decided I needed something else. So, Raisen Bran Crunch it is. Opened the new box I just bought and had me some cereal at 1:30 in the morning. Boy was it good even though I was fighting to stay awake while eating it. I wanted some more but figured since my belly was a little full I should try to get back to sleep.

I suppose I went back to sleep for a while and then I was awakened by my daughters lullaby of momma, momma, momma. UGHHHHHH! Could I not just get a whole nights sleep? I finally managed to pick myself up (still in a medicated stupper) and go back to my bed, yes where the cat was but I didn't care at this point. I fell back into blissful sleep. Seven o' eight came way too soon this morning!

The moral of this story: Don't clean out the closet (moving stuff around) at 8:00 at almost 6 months pregnant!

I think I'm going back to bed until Brady wakes up...which will probably be as soon as my head hits the pillow.

At 23 weeks!

I had my 23 week checkup yesterday. It went well. Met a different doctor in the practice. Not sure what to think of him yet. After some thorough pondering and talking to my mom, I realized that I really don't need to worry about him anyway. :-) The baby is doing great. Heartbeat was in the 140's. He is moving around and becoming more active, or at least I can feel him more now. Though, still thankful he isn't moving as much as Brady did. I'm having some BH contractions already that I attribute to not drinking enough. So, I'm upping my water intake.

We're still trying to figure out names for the baby. I saw a great article in Parent's magazine with baby names. I think I am going to go online and check it out. I was it the doc. office waiting and didn't have time to get done reading. I also figured out something else while at the docs office yesterday. Taking a 1 yr old with you is more stress than needed! I'm going to have to figure something out. While Brady is pretty good, he is just very active. And to think I am going to have two boys running around here. I can see the rest of my hair going grey now!

Until next time...
